About the Census
Every 5 years, Australia counts every person and household. The data shapes decisions on schools, hospitals, transport and community services for the next decade.
Census questions
Questions cover your address, household, personal details, cultural background, work, education and housing. Each one helps plan the services your community needs.
Keeping your information safe
Your privacy is protected by law. Your name and address are separated from your answers and never published.
Support available
Help is available in 12+ languages, for people with disability, and for those experiencing homelessness. Finnova can connect you to the right support.
Avoiding scams
No official organisation will ever ask for your bank details, passwords or money to complete the Census. If something feels wrong, stop and ask Finnova.
